Running was a big part of Janet's life. Scarborough Athletic Club was very fortunate to have had someone as dedicated and as enthusiastic as Janet to help the club function. Janet was Social Secretary for many years; organising numerous events and celebrations for the club. The club annual presentation awards evening that took place at the Cricket Club, in April or May each year, could not have happened without Janet's organisation and catering expertise that always ensured everyone had a great time. As well as being a committee member and helping to run the club, Janet was also an accomplished runner. She competed in many road races at various distances up to and including the marathon (London and New York included.) She won many awards and trophies along the way. Janet will be very much missed at the club and will always be remembered.
